Ha! We all had that teacher, the one claiming no sense of humour, but full of dark humour. This would make a fun short film. And yes, the title is misleading, perfectly.
    Love it!

LOVE IT. I 100% misread the title of this short piece and had an 'Oh waaaiiiit' moment. The dialogue is so smart and funny, and the entire premise is hilarious. What an absolute blast. I adore this.

Mr. Beckett is THAT teacher, inspiring students in unconventional lessons (in math???), while perhaps driving them mad (and possibly to the point of hypothermia). Carolyn is THAT student, bold, uncompromising and challenging. Fenton aptly pushes them together to see what happens in an all-too-brief tale that's both funny and potentially quite bleak.
Also: "I’ve never made a joke in my life, Carolyn. I’m a math teacher." Hilarious.

So funny! I love the suspenseful "showdown" between math teacher and student, when these math students get quite a bit more than they'd requested. Fenton's script would be lots of fun to stage and would also make a great film.

A precise, succinct exercise in irony, with puns to sweeten the deal.

OK. I thought the title was a typo. Nope. It's a high school math class out in the snow. Feisty student Carolyn stands up to her sadistic math teacher (is there any other kind?) who finally agrees to take the class back inside. But where's the key to the locked school door? This is a cute little piece with some very funny lines. It would work on stage but it'd be great as a small film.

Certainly a funny exercise. Great opportunities for actors to improvise the cold and the outrageous setting. A least favorite day to be outside for a least favorite class. Angles in the snow!

Peter Fenton turns a teacher's cruel Dad joke into a student's worst nightmare in "Angles in the Snow." There's an elegant simplicity to the imagery in this piece, which is formatted like a screenplay to enable a few visual gags, and audiences are sure to acutely enjoy Mr. Beckett's willfully obtuse banter with his student, Carolyn. Chilling good fun.

What's the winter equivalent of a dark comedy? Cold Comedy? Nah, that doesn't do this justice. I love the way Mr. Beckett (first name Samuel?) takes things so literally and is self-admittedly humorless. It makes him all the scarier! This would be a great short film! Or the origin story of a supernatural killer! "Cold-Blooded!"

While this could be a great teaser for a scary Christmas-themed suspense story, it's also a very nicely and cleverly-made cautionary tale... plus it's just plain funny. The actors would have great time re-enacting one of the classic Acting 101 exercises: "It's December and you're outside. Go!" Even more than just that, though; it's leaving us wanting more, the way a good story should be.
