Oh Harold. I suppose it's an honest mistake? But maybe Harold is justified in his upsetness at first when he thinks the error is on the other end (although it seems he could use a lesson in being a courteous customer). Heyman does so much in such a short period of time, and leaves us with many points to ponder. (I hope Harold keeps his order!)

02.10.25 - LOL. What I wouldn't give to see the look on Harold's face when Nadine explained what their company actually does. What a great twist, all based on language expectations. Thanks for the laugh Sam!

Oops! Sam Heyman gives us a brief, heated customer service call that so many of us can identify with. And the payoff is perfection. This would make a great festival opener with the audience members nodding and whispering, “Yep, been there.”

Sadly, I have been both of these people.

At least on the occasions that I've been Harold, I'll say something like, "Sorry, I'm an idiot. Thank you so much for your time." I'm much more polite when I'm Harold. When I'm Nadine, the words are professional, but my subtext… is difficult to hide.

Kudos to Sam Heyman for this delightful slice of truth.

The best one-minute plays have a good twist to them (in my opinion) and this one fits the bill! We've all been where Harold is from time to time, kicking ourselves for not reading more carefully. Frustrating when it happens to you, delightful when it happens in a play.

Having spent several hours on the phone and on the computer with "customer service," I know exactly how Harold feels. And I also know what Nadine is going through. So somehow we have the makings of a meeting of the minds. I know this is a one-minute piece, and very well done, too, Sam Heyman. But I suspect there's a larger story behind these two, and even if it never becomes a full-length play, the stage is set for the imagination to take over. Now that bug -- or bee -- is in my ear.

Always read carefully before you order! So funny the confidence one has when asking to talk to a manager! A great reflection of today’s lack of reading/listening/comprehending amongst the masses.

Oh... communication struggles. This 1-minute play is a clever was to approach the prompt of using 37 Origami Bees. It truly helps knowing who you are ordering items from. Thanks for the laughs, SAM HEYMAN.
