I love how this short play both shows the importance of theater in our lives and the many ways art imitates life (and life imitates art.) What a beautiful history play which, unfortunately, feels all too relevant to where we find ourselves today.

Theatre is a reflection of life. And it is so very clear in this play. Many of us have been blessed to live a somewhat safe and isolated life from the atrocities of war. We see it in "stories," even if the stories are the news. It's hard to look away. Like the coat check girl. But is she engaged in the story or looking for guidance and marching orders? Artists today will be very moved and shaken by this story. The show must go on. But so must freedom.

What a powerful moment in history brought to life through the writing gifts of NORA LOUISE SYRAN. Having no prior knowledge of this event, SYRAN vividly brought the scene to life for me with her crisp dialogue and measured pacing. FASCINATING.
