A really playful play! A conversation that goes nowhere and everywhere all at the same time. Humorous and clever use of homonyms and near rhymes, too!

A good Avery Schreiber reference? I'm not made of stone, PMW. Anyway, this was a very funny modern day vaudeville routine that had me laughing throughout. So much brilliant back and forth wordplay that should have audiences chortling. I'm not sure what Jerry would make of that last word, but I'm sure PMW would make it hilarious. Just like the rest of this piece. This is going to be great when it's staged!

Brilliantly written comedy. I had to read it twice - it’s worth it after getting to the punch line. I wish I didn’t identify so much but this is what age brings. Actors will have a blast with this short. Williams created fertile ground for the best kind of organized confusion. I would love to see this on stage.

This short two-hander plays so wittily and delightfully with language that I found myself smiling the entire time I was reading it. So much fun!

When you have two characters named Tom and Jerry, you expect a certain level of hijinks. What I wasn’t expecting, but absolutely loved, was line after line of misheard conversation leading to hysterical non sequiters and somehow making sense. I’m glad I read this because, with my poor hearing, if I were in the audience, I’d be trying to figure out what’s so important about red grass in Wales.

Somebody once told me that every good comedy is based on a misunderstanding - and Williams does a brilliant job of showcasing that in this short where husbands Tom and Jerry just can't seem to get on the same page! A clever love letter to the old Abbot and Costello routines, where the jokes just keep coming! Great work!

A nice day at the beach turns into a funny conversation between two guys who misunderstand each other. This is a fun piece that will make you wanna do the same! Nice work Philip!

Apparently some people went to too many rock concerts in their youth. This hilarious play of misunderstandings really is more about how a couple truly love each other, regardless of what the other one says, or what they think they said.

This ten-minute piece from Philip Middleton Williams is a trippy comedy sketch in the best way, it feels like an Abbott and Costello routine following two people who are listening to each other but don't seem to be able to hear each other. Bonus points that Williams named the men Tom and Jerry, which brings to mind a cartoon cat and mouse, adding to the inherent vaudeville/slapstick-quality to this piece. Quite fun!

Sometimes the roar of the ocean can drown out simple conversation. Here we have the tale of a couple, enjoying some beach time, together time, and a whole heaping load of misheard statements. Philip Middleton Williams delivers a surreal day at the beach.
