This two-hander gives audiences a glimpse into devastating loss and the grief that follows. DC Cathro has written two characters that both need something... one to remember.... one to forget... which is really not possible at all. Two different approaches. Which approach is correct? There is no right answer when it come to grief. Beautiful.

Wow, what a beautiful play. The way the characters in Cathro's short two-hander struggle to articulate their pain, grief, and even (for one of them) hope is just so well done that I'm in awe over it. Moving and powerful.

Ten minutes in the hands of a writer like DC Cathro is fully enough time to take us deep into the souls of two characters experiencing loss. It's a shared loss but their grief, like most grief, is an intensely individual experience. Cathro paints a beautiful, painful picture.

One of the many things I like about D.C. Cathro's plays is his unmatched talent for giving us characters on all sides of a conflict whom you want to root for. This short but profoundly moving play about loss and life gives us two people in different stages of the grieving process, but neither one is wrong. A brilliant play that gives a rich experience to actors and audiences alike.

11.27.25 - Oh God, this was heart-breaking. DC Cathro has written a truly powerful play about loss and dealing with grief by those left in the wake of tragedy. Some are able to build new paths forward while others... just aren't ready to do so. This was real, raw and painful to bear, but yet, we are left with some hope that people CAN forge ahead, while still honoring those we left in the past. Thanks for this, DC.

This short play had me holding my breath. Grief and loss is so very personal. 2 people can lose the same thing and grieve together, but their journey through that grief is so very different. Louanne and Jeremy illustrated this journey in these powerful 9 pages. No pun intended, (but maybe a little because that's how I handle grief) this is intensely heartbreaking.

The quandary of confronting a living reminder of a loss can be unfathomable, but in his poignant and powerful short play, DC Cathro shows us how those left behind deal with it. The story has elements of O. Henry without the wry irony, and the audience will leave wondering who made the right choice.

Beautiful. Grief is comprised of the things we can’t let go of. This short piece is a heart breaking examination of pain and what we do to soothe it. Whether we embrace or suppress, our processes are unique. And even when they are polar opposites, they are individually valid.

"Re-Gifted" is heart wrenching with its raw emotion, desperate need, and humane characterizations. LouAnne and Jeremy are diametrically opposed but both are well understood thanks to DC Cathro's skill.
