Christmas can be stressful, especially if you’re a parent, and this play expertly captures the rollercoaster of December emotions. Both characters here make great points about what would be ‘best’ for their child’s first Christmas. If nothing else, holiday memories are forged for Mom and Dad!

Such a sweet and humorous story of baby’s first Christmas. Mom trying to pile on traditions on top of traditions while dad just does his best to keep baby entertained. I imagine years from now mom and dad will look back at this first Christmas and laugh, while a grown up boy will look forward to reliving these traditions annually. I may just have to make this part of my annual holiday reading list.

I love this short! Lily is so relatable as a new mom trying to make her son’s first Christmas perfect by doing everything the Internet says she needs to do, including setting up some pretty intricate traditions, and Joe is a sweet partner, trying to support her even as he doesn’t understand why all of this is necessary. What a great representation of how moms feel they need to run themselves ragged trying to create holiday magic for their kids.
