We included this play in our high school senior-directed one-act festival and it provided a great opportunity for the actors to dig into these roles and explore the complexities of love and romance that Weaver sets up in the play. A great addition to the overall program.

The juxtaposition of a goddess disguised behind fish guts is a compelling premise and Macauley's need for his feelings to be understood and reciprocated, even momentarily, are easy to identify with. Aphrodite surprises with insight and is more perceptive than in common myths.

I really loved reading this play. It had a lot of great comedic elements, and it's such a cute love story! It is very relatable, and I loved the connection to Aphrodite.
