I draw on my many years of experience working with people in the throes of existential angst, emotional and physical discomfort or interpersonal crisis. I write with humor and compassion, and examine the many points of view in any one person's story. I want my audiences to be moved both emotionally and intellectually, to feel for my characters while also examining their own pre-conceived ideas about what can or should be going on.
My style is generally quite realistic. I have a good ear for characters' various ways of communicating both verbally and non-verbally. I have found that I really love all my characters, even the unsavory ones, and that deepens my ability to have characters who are nuanced - just as in real life.
