Artistic Statement
I am an interdisciplinary artist, director, and cultural worker whose practice exists at the intersection of theatre, movement, and research-based experimentation. My work often begins with a question (psychological, political, or ancestral) and unfolds through collaboration with artists working across disciplines: dancers who draw, composers who sculpt, actors who design installations. I'm drawn to projects that defy traditional categories and embrace porous boundaries between form, genre, and medium.
As a playwright and director, I’ve built worlds that collapse memory, myth, and identity, often in intimate, durational, or site-adaptive spaces. As a producer and curator, I’ve championed experimental work by artists from underinvested communities, foregrounding process as a form of care.
My current projects in development include TURBULENCE, a solo immersive psychological thriller that explores masculinity, grief, and control through an air traffic controller unraveling mid-shift; and PAY IT NO MIND, a dance-theatre ritual honoring Black queer lineage, survival, and silence-breaking - drawing on voguing, oral history, and speculative ceremony. Both works reflect my ongoing commitment to form-pushing collaborations that center marginalized voices and ask difficult, timely questions with care and craft.
I am especially excited by the rigorous vulnerability that emerges when collaborators meet across disciplines…when a poet meets a choreographer, or a lighting designer begins building with clay. That moment of unfamiliarity becomes fertile ground for invention. I bring curiosity, humor, and dramaturgical clarity into every room I enter, whether as a generative artist or a support system for others.
--
I write stories that confront the frivolities embedded in humanity in order to start conversations about making the world a better place for everyone.
I write stories that challenge audiences to consider the world in which they live in from a new point of view in order to gain knowledge and understanding about cultures they are not readily familiar.
I like to share and make my work with nerds who don’t get to see themselves or who they love in media as much as everybody else.
I write horror to make people laugh.
I write comedy to make people cry.
I write about relationshits to make people feel less alone.
My writing comes in the form of prose, poetry, plays, screenplays, and performance.
I have a passion for creating immersive, site-specific, devised work for adventurous audiences.
