I find most of the inspiration for my work in history and current events. Regardless of the subject matter, I first and foremost want to provide the audience with a visceral theater-going experience. I am drawn to conflicts and stories in which the past plays an active part in the present, and characters wrestle with their own feelings of responsibility and self-worth. Most of all, themes of willful blindness, decision-making, and redemption fuel my imagination and, consequently, my plays.
