Artistic Statement

As a playwright, I’m drawn to stories that challenge, illuminate, and humanize. Whether through searing critique or tender storytelling, my goal is to create theatrical experiences that resonate emotionally and socially—work that invites audiences to see the world, and each other, with greater clarity and compassion.

Much of my work confronts the darker undercurrents of American society—homophobia, racism, misogyny, and the rise of right-wing extremism—through narratives that aim to provoke dialogue and deepen empathy.

I also write plays that center the lives of older gay men—stories too often overlooked in contemporary theater. These pieces tend to be more intimate and lighter in tone, exploring resilience, humor, and the quiet complexities of aging within queer communities.
