Artistic Statement

My artistic voice as a writer reflects accessible, honest, and non-stereotypical stories of LGTBQ+ young people. Queer people don’t often see themselves represented in art, and when they do, it is usually bathed in stereotypes and loud moments. My focus is on the quiet, nuanced moments of queerness. While this representation is a passion of mine, I want to share queer stories that everyone can relate to, regardless of gender or sexuality. There is a shared humanity in vulnerability, and I want to reflect that in my work.

Ultimately, I want to share quiet, queer truth with the whole world by shattering stereotypes and emphasizing that our shared humanity transcends our differences.
