I believe that for live theatre to survive, it must be both relevant and character-driven. As a playwright I strive for empathy — the ability to connect or relate to an audience — both in subject matter and characterization. My dramas, comedies and musicals deal in social issues and the impact of political and other external forces on people. As a writer, I seek to engage my audience in contemporary, emotional and ultimately human, issues.
