Artistic Statement

I view the world as layers of reality co-existing relatively separately until the inhabitants of one realm can no longer thrive and are compelled to seek refuge beyond their familiar zones. Ultimately, on a physical level, it is this need to thrive that prompts living creatures to leave their familiar spaces/homelands and explore new ones. As a first generation Haitian-American, I have witness the courage required for an immigrant to take this journey to a new physical home, as well as the role that honoring ones cultural heritage plays in sustaining the spirit of a people.

My work is highly influenced by my curiosity about the wants and needs of the human body/mind/spirit, and the endless possibilities for change available to us if we delve into the intangible realms for solutions.
