Artistic Statement
In my writing, I focus on the ugly, messy complexity of being a human being. My plays explore intense themes through strong narrative engines based on character relationships. The big themes set the world, while the characters guide us through the story. I want to make people laugh, I want audiences to lean forward, I want them going into intermission or leaving a play absolutely buzzing. I think the unforgivable sin in theatre is to bore.
