Artistic Statement
One of the things I like best about theatre is its collaborative nature. I like to leave a lot of room for actors, directors and designers. Rather than fill the pages with elaborate stage directions and notations, I try to communicate how the lines sound in my head via punctuation and line breaks. For some, I would suspect certain moments seem incomplete on the page or even in rehearsals. This is an extension of my preference to leave a lot of room for collaborators, including the audience. My goal is not to create complete literary experiences in dialogue and stage directions, but to create a blueprint for a performance.
