I have two main aspirations for my writing. One is to write plays that contribute to and exalt theater’s distinctive role as a shared experience. The second is to write plays that deal with complex subjects in a way that shifts the perspectives of people from across a spectrum of beliefs and identity. As part of this second goal, I sometimes draw on my background in international economics and environmental science.
