After the death of my mother forced me to move to the United States of America, I set out to discover everything about the in-between-ness, the what if-ness and the speculative possibilities that can inspire us to move towards a more equitable, sustainable, and kindness-forward human existence. I rewrote stories, I imagined dystopias and utopias, I went seeking for the lessons behind loss, and kept close the advice of my matriarch family which reminded me that as we think, we are. I like to imagine the worst, the best, the better, the now, the thens, the not-yet and the nevers and I find it in music, in paint, in words, in friendships, and living. Because joy is our right. Because grief is life. Because we must be creative, for our species kind.
