For me, the process of writing a play is a lot like another one of my favorite things to do. I sew. The process of putting together a garment ids a lot like a play. The same way I connect pattern pieces together to make something beautiful to wear is the same way I put words to characters and characters to scene for people to experience live. I layer this with commemorating black life with stories that need to be heard.
