Her goal is to inspire her son, students, and readers/the audience how to dream actively by embracing people’s diversity. Catalina believes that regardless of where we were born, in which language, in which type of body, in which religion, in which culture, and everything else that we have decided to add to and eliminate from our lives, we are HUMANS. That’s our nationality, race, sexual preference, etc. In recent years, having veered from academic to creative writing​, her hope is that her plays reflect the above-mentioned ideas.
