Artistic Statement

I admire theatre that can exist anywhere for anyone and strives to be as bizarre, theatrical and accessible (both economically and intellectually) as possible. The plays I admire exist to promote positive change in the world without showing characters as just being solely 'good' or 'bad'. I'm particularly drawn to creating theatre that wants to be magical and disgusting but still cathartic. My plays are inspired by power dynamics, gender, smut, and the theatrical possibilities of the human body. My work plays with making lowbrow signifiers (potty humor, profanity, transgressive language) beautiful, emotional and humanistic.
