Whether I’m writing plays, screenplays, or librettos, I want to create compelling stories and complex characters that provoke the audience out of their routine thinking and to start a dialogue among themselves. I feel that my unlikely protagonists are characters that no one else would want to write about. But when these “heroes” step upon the stage, my hope is that the audience will care about their struggle to achieve their seemingly impossible goals.
