Florence is a plucky little firefly who wants her life adventure to begin, which she thinks means mating and raising little larvae. But only male fireflies can fly, so females have to wait for a male to come to them--and no male has been interested! Fed up, Florence leaps off her leaf to the forest floor below to try her luck elsewhere. On her journey she meets many different creatures of the forest (a lonely cricket, a mooning moth, a skunk with a kooky streak, frat-boy cicadas, and an Eagles-quoting eagle among others), and along the way learns that maybe mating isn't the only way to have a great life adventure. A one act for adults with a children's theater aesthetic.

Florence has been adapted into an animated film. See supporting video links to watch.
