Artistic Statement

I believe that theatre has the ability to tell stories like no other medium can. I write my plays to be impressionistic, to take advantage of the form, and to tell stories with as much pain as there is heart.

Inspired by the classics, from Euripides to Shakespeare, many of my plays adapt characters, plots, and magic in exciting modern ways for today's audiences. My own chronic illness has taken root in some of my plays; I believe that the conflict between a person and their own body is something that demands discovery and exploration.
