Artistic Statement

I am a multi-disciplinary artist who values empathy, individual voice, and agency in every aspect of the my theatrical process. I am motivated to write and collaborate on pieces that value an ensemble’s thoughts, skills, and past experiences. Empathy is vital in everything that we do as artists. I want to write and devise pieces that promote empathy within myself and among audiences. I am interested in theatre that reflects, heals, and challenges for this very reason. Individual voice, to me, is the marriage between agency and representation. Theatre today needs to adapt to represent a wider range of identity markers than we typically see on stage. More specifically, I want to create theatre that embodies, envisions, and emboldens the stories of women and girls, and all their intersections.
