I'm not interested in artistic statements. No shade or disrespect to those that write them for themselves, but I find them to be a bit of a cheat. It's essentially presenting a lens for interpretation- 'here's what my work is about, here is what I'M about, here is what I'm attempting to do'- and I'm not interested in that. I don't want to put my fingerprints all over your imagination. Interpret my work how you see fit, shine it through the prism of YOUR prior experiences. The colors you'll pull out of it will probably be more intriguing and vibrant than anything I could pregame you with.
