Artistic Statement
I aim to fuse sensuous experience and the public sphere; the interior lives of characters and the sociopolitical systems that hold us in their grip; the cosmos and the mystery of human existence within it.
A key formal concern in my plays is rhythm and musical form. I love to play with time in my work. I want speakable language that’s also poetically condensed.
I write about the predicaments of women, non-belongers, outsiders, and refugees. I’m in search of new forms, new stories, new language to respond to the climate crisis, for all who are caught up in this emergency.
