Artistic Statement

My stage and screen writing often touches on the themes of violence, addiction, abuse, imbalances of power, sexism, racism, and the individual’s capacity for love, acceptance, forgiveness, and connection despite suffering (or committing) humanity’s self-inflicted horrors. I strives for better representation of the diversity of people and experiences in the veteran community, which pop culture tends to portray as “Captain America” or broken victim, or some bad combination of the two.
