Artistic Statement

I like to write plays about families breaking: up, open, through. I like to expand the meaning of family to include the unexpected and the chosen. I like to center women and queer characters in my plays. My plays invite you to feel your emotional body in the theater space so you maybe want to talk about it later in your home place. I like to write plays that stylistically straddle the magic of the real and the truth of the absurd.
