I am an optimist when it comes to people, and I will start there. I aim to reveal and emphasize a common place of sensitivity in all living things. I care a lot about words and have spent a long time trying to get them right: in my work, I like to examine the loneliness threaded into this pursuit. My work asks about connectivity and how possible it is to affect another person. I am concerned with what to do with the knowledge that we see things not as they are, but as we are. This question does not come from a place of despair, but from a place of appreciation. I am motivated by the faith that people have special things to say and a fear of waste. I hope people who see my work feel looked at by it, and maybe even held.
