As the only child of the first Black family – replete with the facade of the Cosby Show but a reality more similar to Breaking Vegas meets Breaking Bad, but you know...Black – to move into our charming, vanilla, Delaware suburb (don't be jealous), my fascination with human relationship dynamics and cultural identity developed early. It's the foundation upon which I explore life, art and, in particular, my writing: The codependency of a disparate humanity which refuses to get along as it strives to survive.

My stories are inspired by the life I live. Black, female, past middle age and childless, fiercely choosing to say yes, yet still figuring it all out. My work is regularly multi-cultural, language-driven, relationship focused and steeped in too many of my own unanswerable questions. OH! And my plays are hilarious.
