Artistic Statement
As a kid, I was fascinated with stories and the impact they have, but I never felt like I truly saw myself in any. I make my art for the younger version of myself. For young queer people like them who have never seen themselves onstage. Representation matters, and queer people, people of color, disabled, plus size, and all marginalized groups deserve to see themselves portrayed realistically in the media they consume.
Representation would not happen without accessibility. Making theatre available to people of all financial backgrounds is important so everyone has access to art that represents them.
We, as people, are constantly and ever-changing, and theatre should do the same. As we learn new things and grow as a society, our work should follow suit.
