Artistic Statement
A play is a proposal made to other artists and to their community to create meaning together. Making theatre is a ritual—the ordering of space and time, seeking justice, searching for more expansive meanings in text and gesture.
Most of my work revolves around challenging boundaries -- of culture, of textuality, and of language. I'm interested in the way writing and performance can participate in the formation of national, regional, and personal identities. I'm interested in transformation.
