Artistic Statement
When I published an article on the color pink, my mother asked me, “why do you question everything? Why can’t the color pink be just that, a color?” At first this questionable question pestered me, but I’ve come to see it as a goal. To question is a praxis that is the basis of my art. And as a second generation Latina raised in a conservatively Catholic household nestled in the Pine Barrens of South Jersey, I have a lot of questions.
