As a writer, I am more interested in moments than lifespans. My inclination is to zoom in rather than out, giving the audience a fly-on-the-wall experience, eavesdropping on life-altering conversations and emotional reckonings. I believe in the power of simplicity, creating scenes that live or die on the emotional integrity of the actors. To me, this is theater at its most thrilling.
