Red Ribbons is a full-length, multi-cultural, mixed-media arts drama that utilizes a modern day Greek chorus to unmask the emotional trauma of living with HIV in the 21st century. Solomon, a high school track athlete born with HIV, is forced by his grandmother to keep his HIV status a secret. Nakeesha, a young mother of two is a loyal and proud common law wife but after losing custody of her children, she isolates herself and keeps her status a secret. Solomon and Nakeesha meet by chance when Solomon runs away from the bucolic Camp Happy Valley, an anger management camp for teens he is forced to attend for the summer. Solomon and Nakeesha form a unique bond as each finds the courage to live their truth.
