My work features everything from intimate family dramas, to sweeping fantasy adventures, to detailed portraits of underrepresented historical figures. I strive to center women in all my stories, and I take particular pride when I can do so by adapting classic tales that have been told from a male point of view. A “typical Kate play” involves complex internal worlds, large ensembles, and a heavy dose of magic.

In all my creative work, I strive to give voice to the voiceless, to bring magic to the everyday, and to craft the queer narratives I craved as a teen.
