Artistic Statement

I, like most playwrights, am hoping to use my love of words for change. As a queer bipoc writer, I didn't grow up with a lot of characters like me in mainstream media, including on the stages I fell in love with. I desire to create work for others who maybe haven't gotten the opportunity to envision themselves as a main character yet. Outside the realm of representation, I am also addicted to the simple art of telling stories. People have been telling stories since the beginning of time, and theatre is where we continue to practice the ancient ritual.
