My work is, first and foremost, rooted in a deep love for the trans community. Especially reconciling with the tumultuous relationship between transness and theater, I envision trans playwriting as an intervention where trans people get to tell trans stories. As we move into an era of unprecedented demonization of trans folks, I view playwriting as a vehicle to defend and celebrate our humanity.
