Moriah Joy (she/they) is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and a Minor in English. She is the founder of Joyful Art Productions. She was previously on the Board of Directors for the Little Theatre of Norfolk and Spotlight Hampton Roads. Previous writing and directing experience includes For the Honor and Glory and To Dance in My Dreams. She feels no other choice but to finally take the job after her mom threatens to kick her out, fed up with her daughter being unemployed for three months. All the while Remi’s band, Medusa’s Mistress, is...

Remi, aka Rebecca Miranda, a 27 year old who has bounced around from job to job, while trying to support her music career. Is offered a job with her step-father’s working as a receptionist at his law firm. She feels no other choice but to finally take the job after her mom threatens to kick her out, fed up with her daughter being unemployed for three months. All the while Remi’s band, Medusa’s Mistress, is finally starting to get somewhere until their lead singer quits. Remi struggles with the new job while struggling to find a lead singer until Layne, a Trans-Woman, auditions and is clearly the only one fit for the style they want. Remi starts getting the hang of her role at the office but despises what she feels she’s becoming. Remi and Layne become good friends as the band starts doing really well, until there is some backlash for having a Trans lead singer. Remi learns along the way that maybe she wasn’t as “punk” as she thought and realizes what true struggle looks like.
