Artistic Statement

I push the question, "why people do what they do?" to extremes, looking at acts of cruelty and desperation with the intention of understanding rather than condemning. I write believing that "bad people" don't exist, so "why" becomes the most important investigation.

I'm interested in loneliness, body horror, and the complexities of queer identity. My plays tend to use dry humor to get at the serious dramatic question, with very little loyalty to realism.
