I write plays that superimpose several comedies and several tragedies on top of each other, at once, creating, I hope, a new story shape on top. My plays are strange, steeped in several avant-garde and countercultural theatermaking traditions, yet seek to tell satisfying stories with clear emotional arcs. They are upsetting, and funny, often about knowledge formation and "the family," a structure both literal and found in the world.
