Artistic Statement

My mission as a playwright is to showcase the hypocrisies, intricacies, and pain of the human experience through laughter and a love of language. My goal is to challenge, to make light, to provoke conversation, and ultimately to entertain. If I can make someone laugh their head off and cry in the same piece, as far as I see it, my job is complete. As a gay man, though I in no way wish to limit my storytelling to solely LGBT centric stories, it is also my wish to expand the canon of plays focusing on LGBT characters and queer history.
