As a playwright and composer, my work tends to deal with the intersection of music and drama. I've written musicals, plays with music, as well as plays about music. But more than that, I believe in the empathetic power of theatre, to bring audiences into an experience not their own and to understand the world better through characters that illuminate and compel. Finally, as an Asian American, I feel an obligation to help represent my fellow AAPI folx who face perennial issues of invisibility and racial stereotyping. Ultimately, my goal is to bring communities together and to generate real-world dialogue that can help bridge our divides.
