Rachel Chin

Rachel Chin is an actor, playwright, and singer. She is fluent in English, Malay, Mandarin, and Cantonese. She is a Goodman Theatre Dramatist Exchange Alum, a Playground-Chicago Writers Pool member 2025-2026, and a William and Lee Phillip Bell Bequest Fellow at Northwestern. Her plays have been nominated for the Venturous List 2025-2027 and commissioned by The Theatre of Others, MoreLife Theatre, The Wright Stuff Festival by The Toy Factory, and the Singapore International Festival of the Arts (SIFA X). In Film/TV, she has written for the MeWATCH Interactive TV Series, Adulting. Rachel is also a founding member of the sketch comedy group, Otters United FC. **Playwright’s Note: Galatea was first proposed to the Theatre of Others as a podcast musical exploring themes of female oppression and codependence within a patriarchal system. Over time, the project evolved to focus instead on the experiences of male survivors of intimate partner violence. Ultimately, Galatea the audio drama was presented by the Theatre of Others, while Galatea: A Musical Fable lives on with the MoreLife Theatre podcast.
