This stunning plays holds your attention from beginning to the poignant conclusion. What a roller coaster ride, that takes you from the peaks of side-splitting comedy to the dark valleys of a marriage breaking apart. I laughed! I cried!! No, I really did, especially at the end.

The thought-provoking story will stay with you long after End of Play. Ms. Bluestein-Lyons has done a remarkable job of recreating the mores and manners of 1950s America. I truly enjoyed exploring this different and fascinating culture and era.
  • Bound by Truth (Full-length Historical Drama)

Sheila Rinear has succeeded in exhuming a great hero lost to history: Meg Roper. You won't find a more compelling historical drama this side of the Bard. Rinear's sparkling and witty dialogue imbues this 16th century historical drama with authenticity yet in a way that makes it accessible for today's audiences. Roper's mental jousting with King Henry VIII is madly entertaining! Rinear's play tackles issues as relevant today as they were in 1535, as Roper confronts the charming yet corrupt tyrant Henry--complex issues of morality, religious liberty, conscience and compromise. This is one for the ages! Brava, Ms, Rinear!

This is such a stunning work of art. My heart stopped halfway through and I didn't start breathing again until five minutes after Curtain. The compelling and lyrical poetry of the chorus keeps tightening the screws and ramping up the pace until the final page. Generations of injustice upon injustice continue to heap dirt on the graves of the Joad family. Gripping. Thrilling. Moving. My own words don't do it justice. Read it. Produce it. See it.
  • Bufflehead Bay ( Full-length Play)

This is such a well-crafted play! This is one of the best inter-generational family dramas I have experienced. Rinear refuses to rely on stereotypical characters or situations. The characters are finely drawn, and Rinear throws in some stunning plot twists that keep you on the edge of your seat. She is also a master of atmosphere, and really pulls you in to the mystical allure of the Jersey shore. Now we need a sequel!
  • MEMOIRS OF A FORGOTTEN MAN

I was on the selection committee for last year's National Winter Playwright Retreat. This was the clear winner of the plays submitted, which culminated in a staged reading in Colorado in January of 2018. This play captured me on page one and the words and ideas still haunt me a year later. A captivating, brilliant work. I am tickled to see that it is now enjoying a rolling world premiere.
