Margaret Engel (right) and her identical twin, Allison Engel, wrote "Red Hot Patriot: The Kick-Ass Wit of Molly Ivins," which has been produced 44 times and counting. Kathleen Turner originated the role in Philadelphia and has returned to it at the Geffen, Berkeley Rep and Arena Stage, all under the direction of David Esbjornson. Their new one-woman play, "Erma Bombeck: At Wit's End," opened at Arena Stage in 2016 and has had 36 productions, including three-extension sold-out runs at both Cincinnati Playhouse (actress Barbara Chisholm) and Geva Theatre in NY (actress Pam Sherman). Both plays are published by Samuel French. Their new play, "The Vote: The Miracle Win in Just 72 Years" is a fresh look at women's suffrage, framed by the injustice of the Stacey Abrams' vote in Georgia. They are represented by Ron Gwiazda at Abrams Arts in NYC.
