  • Shaun Leisher: The Foreplay Play

A really well done living room play that explores ideas about sex and relationships. Love the possibilities of play and improv written in this script and I hope to see brave actors take this on very soon.

  • Shaun Leisher: Honors Students

This is a pitch black comedy about friendships among teenage girls that will disturb audiences for sure. But since when is disturbing audiences a bad thing?

  • Shaun Leisher: The Venetians

This is a truly epic play. I'm astounded by the way Barbot is able to interweave these plays and characters. It's a play about the mistreatment of marginalized people by Shakespeare and us today. It's a play that needs to be produced and part of the canon. Instead of doing Othello or The Merchant of Venice, do this play!!

  • Shaun Leisher: Bundle of Sticks

The pure theatricality and fantastical elements of this play is astounding. Christopher has given us a play that shines a light on the evil that is conversion therapy and leaves us with hope for a world where it no longer exists. Lets hope this gets produced everywhere so necessary conversations can happen.

  • Shaun Leisher: The Registry

Really dug how McMorran is able to cram so much history and conflict between these sisters in such a short amount of time. The play is based around a really interesting concept but it would not work as well as it does without these authentic characters.

  • Shaun Leisher: In Character

This play completely took my breath away after reading it. It's amazing how skillfully McMorran captures this vital issue in such a short time. As we are coming to terms with how prevalent sexual harassment is in theatre and how much men get away with because they go "method," this is a play that should be performed everywhere and often to remind us of how real and troubling this problem is.

  • Shaun Leisher: Stoo's Famous Martian American Gumbo

A really delightful play for young audiences. I appreciate the way Barbot doesn't talk down to his audience and really leans into the themes being addressed.

  • Shaun Leisher: Peace and Quiet

There is absolutely nothing neat and tidy about this play. Aging is messy so plays about it should be as well. Haddad has crafted some really complicated and fascinating characters that all have moments to root for them as well as moments to loathe them. This is a conversation that so many families have and I'm glad there is a play like this one that brings it to light.

  • Shaun Leisher: WO[MAN]

A really witty satire about the expectations put on mothers in this country. Perfect example of absurdist comedy rooted in absolute truth.

  • Shaun Leisher: The Last Tooth (monologue)

Whoa!! Did not see this monologue going where it did but I'm so glad Collier took it there. A fun piece for a fearless actor.
