Her farce "An Impeccable Larceny" is available through Concord Theatricals and has been translated into Dutch. A monologue from her short drama “Into That Good Night” is included in “100 Monologues from New Plays 2020 – Women,” available from Applause Theatre & Cinema Books (edited by Lawrence Harbison).

Her plays have been produced by numerous theaters including The Underground at Duluth Playhouse (Minnesota); American Theatre of Actors (NYC); Federal Theatre Project (Washington, D.C.); Echo Theatre (Dallas); College of Siskiyous (California); Muscatine County Arts Council (Iowa); Center Stage Players (West Virginia); Highland Players/St. Andrews University (North Carolina); Finke Theatre (Missouri); Neillsville Area Players (Wisconsin); and Theatre Arts for Everyone (Pennsylvania).

Her diverse acting background includes improvisational and scripted comedy, corporate projects, commercials, voiceovers, indie and student film, and murder mysteries.

She was a participant in Clamour Theatre Company's Clay & Water Playwrights’ Retreat in Florida (Elaine Smith, artistic director). A member of the Dramatists Guild and an award-winning journalist, Mara is also the author of "Super-Charge Your Staff Meetings: 52 ways to create fun, meaningful, memorable meetings that your employees will love," a Grand Award winner from the Awards for Publication Excellence (APEX).
