    Whitney Hollis has dedicated her teaching career to helping promising students overcome their economic and cultural disadvantages. She refuses to let the institutional challenges of a decaying educational system, derail them. When a favorite student has the opportunity to escape a dangerous home situation and permanently change her circumstances for the better, Whitney pushes the student to the brink of her abilities.

    Despite the student’s best efforts she fails to score high enough on the S.A.T. to qualify for a prestigious award that would ensure her ability to attend college. Unwilling to let the student fail, Whitney takes matters in to her own hands and arranges for a second shot at the S.A.T., this time with no possibility of failure.

    Suspicions begin to arise among the students, and Whitney must decide whether to continue her lie and betray their trust, or fess up to the scandal and risk the future of her favorite student as well as her own esteemed career.
